Rick Riordan
You have to have heard of him. This author’s books are everywhere, entrancing readers at every turn. From Percy Jackson and the Olympians to the Kane Chronicles, each and every series is full of adventure and excitement.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is about and teenage boy who is the son of a greek god. His battles lead him through ancient mythology, full of monsters, gods, mortals, and immortals. Once you start these books, you can’t stop.
The Heroes of Olympus is an unfinished sequel series about Percy Jackson and the other children of the greek gods, coming together with the children of the roman gods. With a fresh new cast of characters, along with some of the old ones, these books have suprises and adventures at every turn.
The Kane Chronicles combines egyptian history and mythology to create an exciting, tasteful story. From magicians to gods, Riordan enthrals his fans once again.
Riordan fashions his characters in a way that the reader can relate to them. They are longer books, but the text is fairly easy to read. I find these books to be some of my favorites, though they do tend to follow the same plot line. Overall I would give Rick Riordan’s books a 4 star rating.

The Hunger Games Trilogy
You have probably heard of the Hunger Games Trilogy, including The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and The Mockingjay. Some claim that it is better than Harry Potter, I say it isn’t, though it is a vey good book. The Hunger Games involves sacrifice, and conquering evil tyrants who thirst for power. These books are a little gory, so if you are not one for blood you might not want to read them. A little bit of a love story is mixed in with some of the characters as well.
The setting takes place in the future, but it seems like the past. The main character is Katniss, who is rebellious and has a fiery personality. I think this book has meaning and important messages that go beyond the pages of the Hunger Games. Read The Hunger Games Trilogy by New York Times best-selling author Suzanne Collins today!

Anne Frank
A very sad but well written book, I did this book for my biography book report and it got me a great grade, this book is about how Jews lived their life and how the sad life was.
It was enjoyable and something you would read if you are alone and in a quiet environment. I have read a virsion of her diary and it was one of the most touching books. -Pico
Harry Potter #1-7
This is a good and exciting and time for predicting type of book. Chutney and I[Pico] have read all of them and love them! This book is by a wonderful author named J.K.Rowling. These books are about a young boy that finds out that he is a wizard. He must face the challenges of a wizard boarding school and defeat the man who killed his parents and millions more. In the earlier books the main character Harry deals with rival students, frustrating family and more. The later books have highschool sweethearts, friendship and adventure away from Hogwarts (his school.) This book involves a whole wizarding world full of adventure and mystery. Read it today!

P.S. Our rule is read the book before the movie!

Inkheart
There’s nothing better then to sit back and read a book, perhaps Inkheart. Inkheart is a wonderful book by a great writer named Cornelia Funke. She is a New York times bestselling author. She also writes other books for example she writes Dragon Rider, Inkspell, Inkdeath, and the Thief Lord. Inkheart is about a father and a daughter who can read things out of books. When they find an evil man who was read out of a book called Inkheart they must get rid of him to prevent him from doing terrible things. This book is my(Chutney’s) favorite kind! A mixture of fantasy and adventure! Cornelia Funke is capable of creating a whole world called Inkheart where the characters are dynamic and well developed. The book is way beter than the movie!

When Will This Cruel War Be Over?
When Will This Cruel War Be Over? is a civil war diary of Emma Simpson by Barry Denenberg. This story is a twist because Emma and her family and neighbors are Confederates. This story is quite tragic because many people die and have terrible hardships. The Yankees treat the Confederates terribly and even force Emma to live with her family on one floor of their home while the Yankees live there. I give this book a 4 star rating because it is a great story while at the same time it is sad. I recommend this book to anybody who is in to history and can bear sadness.
